OTOLI is a fictional novel by Bryony Allen, an author and Middle School teacher. The book is based around bullying and is a really great read. It is based around a girl Alice who is a social outcast at her school and is bullied by the ‘Populars’. She befriends a Cafe waitress Jenny, who seems to be stuck in the past.
Alice begins to become suspicious when after telling Jenny about the bullies, bad things start happening to the bullies. Alice then has to face a bigger challenge after her father gets a new job and the family has to move house.
The title OTOLI has a meaning which is discovered after reading the book. OTOLI – Have you been there? The book is on a number of levels which has a number of messages and setups that develop throughout the book. The book is definitely a page turner! To add to a great book about bullying, a percentage of every book sold goes to BullyingUK dedicated to fighting bullying today. A great book for teens and only 140 pages for those not into reading! Definitely worth a read!
